We are one of the leading shoring and sheet piling contractors in Chennai. Shoring in construction plays a vital role to support an extensive excavation to stop the soil from overturning, ultimately leading to a mishap in the project. Our skilled engineers are proficient in providing the best solution to customers who can design and supply cost-effective shoring solutions that meet the project’s needs. At Kasi Vishwa, we do our best to design and execute the site for your projects.
Sheet piles are erected to create depth along the proposed line of excavation or alignment with the seawall. The interlocked piles form an enclosure to provide permanent or temporary earth support that reduces groundwater flow. May use anchor for additional support in the event of need. The sheet pile holds excavations of Underground Parking Structures, Cofferdams, Sewage Treatment Tanks, and Foundations, and to build Bulkheads &walls.
The Most Common Types of Shoring Methods
• Soldier pile shoring
• Interlocking sheet piling
Shoring is done using the sheet piles. Sheet piles are driven up to the hard layer or to the depth required by the design. Depth of the sheet piles shoring system is increased by 30% – 40% from design length as a safety margin. Usually, when the depth of the sheet pile shoring increases, it is required to support laterally as it cannot withstand itself. However, when the depth is smaller, we may not be required to have supported. For deep excavations, there may be more than one support for the sheet pile wall to retain the stable.
Sheet piles are interlocking steel sections that are driven in the ground to support excavations or soil removal. Since the sheets make a continuous steel wall, they are most useful to stop water infiltration, loose soil infiltration, and migration of soils. Sheet piles are manufactured in many shapes and thickness for use in all situations from lightweight residential shoring to high capacity commercial structures.
The sheet piles are installed with vibratory hammers and impact hammers depending on the soil conditions at the site. Sheet piles can be used for temporary shoring, removed and re-used.
